Lena Andersson-Eklund is an associate professor of Animal Breeding and Genetics, and associate dean at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at SLU (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences), Uppsala, Sweden. In research, Lena is active in the field of genetic mapping of quantitative trait loci (QTL), mainly in dairy cattle. She is also involved in teaching of animal breeding courses at undergraduate and graduate levels and supervises MSc and PhD students' research. In the role as associate dean, Lena has responsibility for strategic planning, development and coordination of the under-graduate programs of the faculty, e.g. study programs in Animal Science and in Veterinary Medicine.
Since 1999, Lena has been involved in developing and facilitating capacity building courses and workshops for university teachers and researchers in developing countries.
